Development of the Walkway Concept

The initial concept of the hexagon was a way to symbolise the narrowing meeting between present and past (memories) triggered by chance meetings. The hexagon also appeared while I attempted to solve the initial "Reflective Room" concept, the concept has now changed but I want the shape of the hexagon and reflective concepts to remain.

For the reflective concept to remain the walkway has been constructed of metal - however this could create issues as the sun will heat the walkway so it will require some form of ventilation. The reflective concept also influenced the idea of digital projection onto the walls of the walkway. With further development this projection could be a result of some form of interactive app or ability to access ones photo gallery and data within their mobile phone and the choice to project these images and messages onto the walls.
Similar to that of the Te Papa interactive multimedia wall exhibit.
However this interaction is encouraging synchronicity and potential chance meetings between stranger and potentially those from your past.
