This staircase house was designed by y+M Design Office for a young couple and their family. Both parents are teachers and they wanted a home that could provide a place for "people gathering"so that their students could visit them at home but remain a private place.
The stairs have glass slits allowing natural light to enter the house but are designed and situated in such away that privacy is still retained.
This house is a great example of a multipurpose staircase, it serves the practical sense of getting from A to B but also serves as a meeting place.
