While discussing Atea and 'meetings' in class the consumption of food and meetings organised around and involving food was often discussed. The amount of times it surfaced during our discussion interested me and it became apparent that food is frequently used as an activity or an instigator of all kinds of meetings in todays society.
"Design Play An Array of Quirky Design" Viction:Workshop
"Eurocities" an interactive tablecloth designed for a meeting in Barcelona between European mayors. This made the meal less formal, more social and gave everyone an opportunity to express their opinions, ideas, impressions and feelings by drawing and writing on the tablecloth.
"Messy" AZE Design
The "Messy" tablecloth was designed in the hope to recreate the convention of dining as a meeting and a place to spend time with others rather than just a time to satisfy hunger.
